In an effort to facilitate the management of large and complex data, the Mathematics Study Program (Prodi) of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Tanjungpura University (UNTAN) held a community service activity on Thursday, 11 July 2024. The activity had the theme "Optimizing the Use of Excel: "Microsoft Excel Dashboards and Infographics" was guided by resource person Yudhi S.Si., M.Sc., and took place offline at the TPI Entikong Class II Immigration Office which was attended by 8 participants.
This training is designed to make it easier for TPI Entikong Immigration Office II employees to monitor, analyze and make decisions quickly and efficiently. By utilizing the Microsoft Excel application, participants are taught how to manage large and complex data through creating dashboards. This dashboard functions to present data visually, making it easier to analyze and make decisions. Apart from that, the training material also includes creating infographics to make the data display more attractive and easy to understand.
The event was opened by Vivi Felicia as the host, followed by singing the song Indonesia Raya. Welcome speech was given by Dr. Yundari, S. Si., M. Sc., Chair of the Mathematics Department, FMIPA UNTAN, who emphasized the importance of community service as part of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. Corryna Allen, S. Pd., Head of General Affairs of the TPI Entikong Class II Immigration Office, also gave a welcoming speech followed by a prayer by Ray Tamtama, M. Si., Lecturer at the Untan Mathematics Department.
Yudhi, S. Si., M. Si., Lecturer in Mathematics Study Program, FMIPA UNTAN, delivered material about Excel Dashboards. The material was presented clearly and easily understood, making participants enthusiastic about learning how to use Excel. This activity also included a pretest and post-test to measure participants' understanding before and after the training, as well as an interactive question and answer session. Participants gave positive responses through the evaluation form, apart from that, participants also showed a significant increase in knowledge after the training.
This activity ended with a group photo, handing over a thank you note to the TPI Entikong Class II Immigration Office and closing. Dr. Yundari, M. Sc expressed his hope that similar activities can continue to be carried out to strengthen relations between the University and the community. Mrs. Corryna also hopes that there will be further activities from the Mathematics Department which can provide further benefits for Immigration office employees. This training not only improves participants' skills in using Excel, but also strengthens Tanjungpura University's commitment to serving the community.
